Write for us
We welcome clear, original pitches about rural clothing, textiles, garment making, care and dress customs. Proposals should help readers understand a specific subject without assuming that one rural experience represents all others.
What makes a good pitch
Send a focused idea, the question it will answer, why it matters to readers and a brief outline of the approach. Explain what the piece can establish using appropriate sources or well-defined general knowledge. We are interested in explanatory articles, comparisons, histories and useful pieces about ordinary clothing choices; avoid unsupported claims, disguised product promotion and material that requires readers to follow safety-critical or professional instructions.
How to propose it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then include your proposed title or subject and a short summary. Do not send confidential information or assume that a pitch has been accepted until a response confirms interest. We cannot promise publication, payment or a response time in advance.
Clothes belong to a place
A garment makes more sense when we consider its material, purpose and setting. Rural Fashion Journal looks at country dress without treating rural life as one uniform style.
